Community service

and our affiliation with the VFW post 133

Nicolas Cabrera, owner of Diesel Wrestling Academy, served 13 years in the Army, including a year-long deployment in Saudi Arabia. His retirement has not lessened his unwavering dedication to serving and protecting others. Today, he leads with the same commitment as the Senior Commander of the East Brunswick VFW Post 133. His wife, Claire, shares his passion for service, actively supporting veterans as a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Together, they continue their mission to give back to those who have served our country.

An empowering community

"At VFW Post 133, we believe that a strong, supportive community is essential for individual happiness and collective well-being. Being part of a connected community helps foster a sense of belonging and resilience, especially in difficult times. That's why we work tirelessly to bring people together through events and celebrations open to the public. From our 'Halloween Bash Party' to the annual VFW 5K, and our monthly Thursday dinners that raise funds for different non-profits, we are committed to building and empowering our community.

These events not only create opportunities for connection and fun but also serve as important reminders of the challenging chapters in our shared history. Through community, we honor the past while creating a brighter, more supportive future. Whether in moments of difficulty or joy, having a strong community that lifts up its members is a gift everyone deserves.

Vietnam Memorial Wall

During Memorial Day weekend 2024, VFW Post 133 worked hard to bring the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to the community. This significant event provided an opportunity for many families to grieve their loved ones and helped new generations understand the importance of remembrance.
